Optimal Launcher ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how our Android application handles your information.
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything stays on your device.
Information We Collect
None. Optimal Launcher does not:
- Collect personal data
- Track your usage or behavior
- Access your contacts, messages, or other personal content
- Send any data to external servers
- Use analytics, advertising, or tracking services
Data Stored on Your Device
The app stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Notes: Any notes you create, including reminders and page organization
- Settings: Your preferences (theme, grid layout, icon size, font settings)
- App launch counts: If you enable "Sort by frequency", counts are stored locally to improve sorting
- Focus sessions: Timer history and daily goals are stored locally
This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.
Peer-to-Peer Sharing
The optional file sharing feature connects devices directly over local Wi-Fi. Files are transferred peer-to-peer without going through any server. No files, metadata, or connection history is sent to us. Both devices must be on the same network and explicitly accept the transfer.
Google Cloud Backup
If you sign in with Google, the app can back up your notes to your own Google Drive. This data goes directly to your Google account. We never see, access, or store your Google credentials or backup data.
Permissions
Optimal Launcher requires certain Android permissions to function:
- Query All Packages: Required to display all installed apps in the launcher grid
- Internet / Wi-Fi State: Used only for P2P file sharing and optional cloud backup
- Notifications: For note reminders
- Schedule Exact Alarm: For precise reminder timing (you grant this in system settings)
- Vibrate: For haptic feedback on interactions
- Boot Completed: To reschedule reminders after device restart
- Set Wallpaper: Only used if you choose to change your wallpaper
No permission is used to collect or transmit your data.
Third-Party Services
Optimal Launcher uses Google Play Billing for optional theme purchases and donations. Payment processing is handled entirely by Google Play. We do not see or store your payment information.
No other third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services are integrated.
Data Security
All data is stored locally on your device and protected by your device's own security (screen lock, encryption). P2P file transfers happen directly between devices on the same local network.
Children's Privacy
Our app does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Your Rights
Since we don't collect any data, there is nothing to access, modify, or delete on our end. All data is on your device and under your full control:
- Clear app data through Android Settings to remove all stored notes and preferences
- Uninstall the app to completely remove all associated data
- Export your notes using the in-app export feature before uninstalling
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date above.
